Solo Piping Recital by Angus MacColl

This is an exceptional opportunity to hear a concert by Angus MacColl (Benderloch, Scotland), one of the finest pipers in the world. The evening will be a benefit for the Nicol-Brown Amateur Invitational Competition, and a welcoming reception for the competitors.

The Nicol-Brown Contest (2010 Results)

Ten of the finest Amateur pipers from across North America have been selected to play in an elite invitational contest with three events: 6/8 Marches, Piobaireachd and MSR. The contest is dedicated annually to the memory of Robert U. Brown and Robert B. Nicol.

Angus MacColl from Benderloch, Scotland will be judging the 2010 contests.

Master Class and Lessons

Nicol-Brown competitors will have the privilege of receiving instruction from Angus MacColl and Donald Lindsay, and the public is invited to observe the master class. Topics will include musical expression, technique, and improving musicianship toward the professional level of piping.
